Cazú Zegers proposes a different angle of approach to architecture, in a search that is both expressive and deeply connected to Latin America—its territory, landscapes, and traditions. From this emerges a practice “in progress,” involving a poetic reflection on the way we inhabit the land.
The thesis that inspires her work is that of “light and precarious dwelling,” referring to a low-tech architecture with a high experiential impact; an understanding that the greatest value of Chile and Latin America lies in their territory: “Territory is to the Americas, as monuments are to Europe.”
