YKAA, founded by Atsuki Yamazaki and Maryana Kovalchuk in 2022, is an art and architectural atelier based in Sapporo, Japan, working locally and internationally.

Drawing on experience in both Japanese and global contexts, we aim to create architectural value that moves beyond established conventions. At YKAA, we explore architecture as a way to gently redraw boundaries - between inside and outside, structure and landscape, tradition and the present.

Our work grows from careful listening: to place, to materials, and to the people who will inhabit each project. We work across architecture, interior and furniture design, seeking clarity, precision, and a quiet depth that leaves room for individual ways of living.
