Founded in 2016 and based in Lausanne, Switzerland, BARAKI Architecture & Ingénierie is a multidisciplinary studio that merges architecture, engineering, urbanism, and art. Led by Jeanne Wéry, Georg-Christoph Holz, and Marc Vertesi, the practice is recognized for its contextual and environmentally sensitive approach, rejecting standardization in favor of site-specific solutions.
BARAKI’s work emphasizes the interplay of matter, light, and structure, creating projects that respect landscape and cultural identity while integrating innovation in materials and design. From sustainable housing and infrastructure to artistic interventions, the studio positions itself as an “outsider” voice in contemporary architecture, committed to shaping spaces that are both functional and poetic.
