CASA DE VILA
São Paulo, Brazil
2025

Located in Perdizes, São Paulo, this 250 m² townhouse, designed by @PeninsulaArquitetura, results from the merging of two semi-detached houses into a single residence—now integrated, light-filled, and cohesive. The project addressed a fragmented structure marked by level differences and uncoordinated interventions, proposing a complete reorganization centered on the creation of a unified façade that reinterprets original elements with balance and harmony.

Inside, spaces were organized without corridors, encouraging a fluid flow. The living room with fireplace connects seamlessly to the dining area, forming the social core facing the front of the house. At the back, the kitchen and TV room connect to each other and to a central courtyard, which ensures natural light and ventilation. Adjacent to it, the playroom serves as a playful retreat for children, while above it, a terrace with planters and a vegetable garden expands the living area and brings greenery into everyday life.

Ceilings play a leading role in defining volumes and atmospheres, while skylights and overhead openings enhance the entry of natural light throughout the day. Vertical circulation was simplified: the original staircase was replaced with a new one, freeing up space to enlarge the dining room and improve circulation with greater clarity and comfort. On the upper floor, four suites—two with home offices—complete the program.

Timeless materials such as wood, brick, terrazzo, and white walls create a neutral and welcoming base. The result is a home that balances past and present, preserving the spirit of a São Paulo townhouse compound through a contemporary lens.
