The house is located at the top of a hill, which provides a beautiful view of the woods in front and of the city of São José in the background. To adapt to the irregular shape of the terrain, the house’s floor plan fits within the projection of a triangle, arranged in an L-shape inside it. The house volume is partly embedded in the ground and partly suspended, supported by a few structural elements — most notably a column in the garage — with a large balance sheet sustained by a 1.50m beam.

The shorter wing of the L, facing the street, contains the service area on the lower level and the social areas of the house on the upper level. The longer wing contains the bedrooms’ corridor, of which the last room is complemented by a private garden and a staircase leading to the office above. The office occupies its own distinct space, enjoying the garden set atop the roof slab. The empty space within the L forms a garden inside the lot, which connects and articulates the different areas of the house.
