2026

Casa Barro was born with the goal of re-signifying traditional construction methods and returning them to their rightful place in our spaces, designs, and ways of living. We aim to return to artisanal processes because we believe that the luxury of the future lies in appreciating the essential, in a more respectful understanding of the creation times, in honoring processes that involve a slower but more meaningful development, in feeling closer to the languages of nature, and in understanding the elements that surround us with greater sensitivity.

To this end, we constructed a 240m2 home on a 1-hectare lot, just like all the lots in this condominium. This is with the mission of occupying no more than 5% of the space and creating a large reserve of dry tropical forest. In this, we seek for Casa Barro to not only have an understanding of the territory and the environment but also to pursue a more authentic, sincere, vibrant, and human architecture that reflects the purity of the elements

The house was built not only by artisan hands and through community work, as a way to relearn a seemingly abandoned technique, but also in collaboration with various artists from the country. Each one contributed their craft in the creation of unique objects that are part of the house and reflect the art and design of different regions of Colombia.

We are driven by the desire to reconnect with the earth, to get our hands back into the clay, to build with purpose and in community, to work collaboratively, to instill culture in the work and in every detail that makes a house more than just a house; and to transform it into a reflection of a thought, a mentality, and a critical stance for inhabiting meaningful spaces
