Villa 1028
2024

Located within the “Khaneh Darya” residential complex in Mazandaran Province.1028 Villa is a weekend retreat designed as a temporary dwelling that negotiates a fine balance between architectural expression and contextual sensitivity. The project stems from a dual conceptual foundation: the desire to be seen and the simultaneous need to remain unseen.

From the public street front to the north, the villa presents a solid, introverted façade—an architectural gesture of privacy and restraint. In contrast, the southern front, oriented toward a natural stream, opens generously to the landscape, embracing light, breeze, and views. This deliberate duality not only defines the building’s spatial character but also sets the tone for its experiential narrative.

The project is organized around a central core that acts as both spatial anchor and functional hub. On the ground level, it acts as both connector and shared space, encouraging interaction between architecture, its inhabitants, and the surrounding environment. On the upper level, this core transforms into a divider, organizing the floor plan into two separate zones to the east and west. These lateral boundaries, shaped not to isolate but to embed the villa within its natural context, are responses to climatic considerations rather than formal separation.

The architectural language of the villa evolves from the interior outward, a process that closely aligns with the project’s programmatic and spatial logic. The structure grows modestly within its site, respecting the terrain while expressing contemporary sensibilities through material precision and formal clarity.

Special attention was given to construction details to ensure the continuity of form and surface—particularly at the roof-to-wall junctions—where the geometry remains visually seamless. From the composition of the concrete mix to the articulation of edge conditions, every element was calibrated to reinforce the villa’s restrained yet intentional presence.

Villa 1028 is less a statement and more a quiet negotiation—between man and nature, opacity and openness, permanence and temporality. It is an architectural exercise in humility, a project that speaks with minimal means yet profound sensitivity.
