LaBase House sits on a sloping plot in Bariloche, descending from street level toward a golf course at the rear, with Cerro Catedral rising at the front. The topography becomes the organizing principle: access follows a path that sinks gradually into the ground, shifting from open landscape to contained interior before the house is fully entered.

The structure is conceived as a timber box resting on the terrain, its precise geometry in deliberate contrast with the surrounding trees and mountain backdrop. Inside, the social program unfolds as a continuous field: a sunken fireplace, living, dining, and kitchen areas flow together without partition, creating different conditions for gathering within a single space. A double-height section anchors the volume, with the upper corridor overlooking the social area, extending the bedrooms into the life of the house rather than separating them from it.

The ground floor opens directly onto the garden, bringing the golf course into the interior landscape. The bedrooms at the front elevation capture views of Cerro Catedral above the roofline of neighboring houses, a horizon that changes with the seasons and the light.

The house is designed as a place where bonds form and strengthen: a warm, grounded refuge for friends and family.
