Sunshine Primary School, located on the north side of Guimiao West Road, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, is a public six-year compulsory education primary school with 31 classes and a total of 1,331 students. The school covers an area of ​​10,648 square meters, with a building area of ​​9,845 square meters . After more than 20 years of use, the campus has developed a series of problems, such as insufficient public activity space and aging equipment and facilities, requiring urgent renovation. Through thorough communication with the school and in-depth site research, in addition to specific upgrades and renovations of several types of equipment and facilities, we proposed the following four renovation strategies for the functional spaces of the campus itself.

A T-shaped covered walkway was added to seamlessly connect the new entrance waiting area for parents, the covered walkway for teachers and students to enter the teaching building, and the existing public transportation corridors of the teaching building. The original sports equipment room and offices on the ground floor were removed, making the tennis courts, central courtyard, and playground a unified whole, both visually and functionally.
