Tonbo means dragonfly in Japanese. And like a dragonfly, we move through the design and construction process: agile, quick on-site, forwards and backwards, up and down. For us, designing and building are not separate phases, but one continuous process. Precisely because we are small, we are fully committed to our design approach.

Our design process is a workshop, together with our clients. Later, the structural engineer, building physicist, and contractor also join in. We do not work top-down, but simultaneously from large to small and from detail to concept. Constantly back and forth, always in search of the optimum. And that is reflected in our designs. This is how we create architecture that is adventurous, unexpected, and poetic. Architecture that moves. Like a TONBO.
