José Bauer and Augusto Román are architects, having graduated from Ricardo Palma University, and earned their respective master's degrees from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. They worked on projects in Spain, France, Belgium, and Morocco before returning to Peru and forming a partnership in 2012.

In Lima, Augusto Román is pursuing another master's degree at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) in Architecture, Urban Planning, and Sustainable Territorial Development, while José Bauer is completing a diploma program at the National Agrarian University in Landscape Architecture, Green Area Design, and Urban Arboriculture. Since then, their professional practice has developed between private commissions and public facilities, working within limited budgets to achieve maximum efficiency and flexibility in the use of space, with a strong environmental awareness, which has earned them several awards and competitions.

Nominated three times for the Mies Crown Hall America Prize, they have won the Architectural Quality Competition of the 2021 Lima International Architecture Biennial in the Cultural and Institutional Equipment category, the 2022 Steel Hexagon of the Peruvian Architecture Biennial, the 2024 BIAU Climas award in the Works category, and were among the winners of the Archdaily award for work of the year 2025. They have also been finalists of the Pan-American Biennial of Quito, finalists of the Oscar Niemeyer Award, and received an honorable mention at the 2022 Peruvian Architecture Biennial in the public space category.
