RAW Architecture is an architectural design studio which is an abbreviation of Realrich Architecture Workshop founded by Realrich Sjarief. This studio has two laboratories, namely: DOT Workshop, which focuses on research on tectonic grammar, and OMAH Library related to architectural literacy. Omah Library itself is a research group, as well as a library that houses around 1,500 architectural volumes and hosts lectures on contemporary architectural discourse. RAW Architecture Studio won several design competitions, including the Indonesian National Gallery Competition, Finalist from the Silaban Museum and several awards such as the IAI Jakarta Award in 2017 with the work Omah Library, Finalist World Architecture Festival Award 2018, Fibra Award 2019, and Kohler Award 2018 for the work of Alfa Omega School. RAW Architecture in 2018 - 2019 was a long-listed world emerging architect.
Recently RAW Architecture also received an Emerging Architect nomination at the Asia Pacific Design Award 2020. RAW Architecture Studio practices in the middle of two worlds, namely: craftsmanship and design theory-methods. The technique used is a combination of two poles, tradition (handicraft) and industry (modularity). Both are combined into a monumental and simple line drawing forming a modest beauty (Understated Beauty).
The line drawing forms a bridge that is the concept of contemplation rahayu, which translates to 'harmony.' Harmony between disciplines and the environment built with totality. The three principles of this concept are: Memayu (bringing beauty and peace to one's world), Manunggal (believing in something greater than oneself), and Mudheng (having an awareness of one's role in the universe). In answering contemporary questions to continue the spirit of exploration, RAW Architecture actively explores the contemplation of objects.
