Looking For Architecture, founded in 2011 by Antoine Trollat and Laurent Graber, is an architecture firm based in Lyon. Why Looking For Architecture? Looking For because of the care we take in understanding the user and defining their project – in studying the context and the program – in our pursuit of an architecture that is invariably unique.
As architects, we approach all projects with the same attentiveness and sensitivity, focusing on the art of proportions of the body in space. But it is undoubtedly our experience in event design that has led us to adopt a particular architectural approach with regard to space, time, landscape, and users. Our experience with the ephemeral has allowed us to develop a vocabulary that we apply to buildings and their envelopes, from the smallest to the largest scale. True jacks-of-all-trades, we offer installations, mobile structures, and both "standard" and "non-standard" architecture.
Our work is enriched through our collaborations with artists, craftspeople, manufacturers, and colleagues: each partnership is tailored to the specific project and client. Our journey has led us to create buildings dedicated to culture and the performing arts, as well as housing and public spaces.
This unique approach, which we embarked on somewhat by chance and intuition, is the path along which we continue to evolve. In parallel, our regular participation in teaching workshops at the National School of Architecture of Lyon and the Confluence Institute for Innovation and Creative Strategies in Architecture allows us to share and deepen our commitment. LFA's work is first and foremost driven by our enduring desire to build new partnerships and projects around the contemporary challenges facing our communities.
